First Week

We survived the first full week of classes! Had lots of full days but they were were pleasant and fulfilling at the same time. At the moment, the two soc classes seem to be my favorites, probably partially because they're repeat professors that I already love. We're already sinking our teeth into the texts in Theoretical Foundations, and I would have never thought that old boring white guys' theories about society could remain applicable to the world and be provocative (granted, I wouldn't understand it enough to have an opinion on it if we didn't meticulously discuss the texts in class.) I'm almost wanting to start writing a paper on it even though I don't have to (nerd!) Methods should also be good as long as I read the right chapter(s) for our daily quizzes.

Just took stock of my weekend homework situation and it seems relatively minimal, which will probably result in a lazy weekend for me. The 80's Dance is also tomorrow, and my poncho and I plan on making an appearance. Sunday is opening night (that sounds so theatrical) for the Peer Writing Center, and I get to do my first shift that night. I pretty much forget all the details of what we learned in training, since I haven't really done it since last May, but I'm looking forward to doing that and starting to get some experience under my belt.

Oh! I just forgot: Kate (roommmate) has been talking in her sleep. So far I have two audible quotes that I'm recording (perhaps for a future psychoanalysis?) It tickles my funny.

I'll leave you with this lovely image (an homage to Nicole.)

Thank you so much for that picture...it tickles me as much as I expect Kate's sleep-talks do for you. I miss you a ton...this isn't fair.
